The job market, as you can image, is now experiencing a slow down. Food and healthcare related businesses are really the only companies actively recruiting at the moment although we are still in regular touch with our clients and so any new vacancies will be uploaded onto our jobs page as soon as they come in.
On Friday, in our Facebook Friday Live, Lynne gave her tips on creating a LinkedIn profile and how you can use it not only to job search but to grow your network of people and businesses contacts.
The Government Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
It was announced on Friday that the scheme has now been extended until the end of June, which is great news for businesses and their employees. If you are worried about being furloughed or you have questions about how your employer is using the furlough system, or need some free, impartial advice, then visit the ACAS website or Citizens Advice website which are both good places to start.
You and Your Families Mental Health
The government has announced a 3 week extension to the current lockdown. For many the last few weeks have been a time to enjoy spending more time with their families and doing things that they might not normally do such as play board games, get out for a walk together and even sit down to eat dinner all together at the dining room table.
However it is still a difficult and unusual time for many and looking after your mental health and that of your family is really important.
If you are struggling with your mental health and need someone to talk to the Mental Health Charity Mind website has some great advice about how to keep mentally fit during the coronavirus situation.
Ideas For Keeping Entertained While Stuck Inside
Talking of board games, The Independent has tested some of the best family board games and share their top 13 here! Some classics that you may already have but some new ones that look great fun!
Or how about a virtual safari to do from your living room? You can get up close with some of the world’s most amazing animals from the safety of your sofa on one of these fabulous virtual tours.
One local initiative we have discovered is being run online by ArtCare, the arts in health service for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust that could be of interest to you and your employees.
ArtCare supports the wellbeing of hospital staff, patients and visitors with an array of online content to uplift and inspire, including music, poems, storytelling and ‘have a go’ art guides. They have also teamed up with Odstock Health and Fitness, the hospital’s onsite Leisure Centre, to bring people some online workouts. They are really keen to add more activities and are encouraging people to let them know what they would like to see more of.
We’ll keep you updated with more tips and advice next week but if there is anything you are not sure about then please give us a call on the usual number 01722 334433
Stay Safe
Best wishes from
