Firstly, we hope you, your families and teams are all safe and well. As we start slowly coming out of lockdown we wanted to update you on what’s happening at Personnel Placements.
Business As Usual
The Government has now published guidelines to assist employers, businesses and their staff on how to open safely during coronavirus.
Over the past few weeks during lockdown, whilst some of our team have been furloughed, others have been continuing to support our clients remotely by working from home. We still have a number of temporary workers out on assignment and ensuring they remain safe and supported has been our priority. We also have clients who are still recruiting on a permanent basis and others that have needed specialist HR support and advice. We are still talking to job seekers and supporting them with their job search.
Last week we started to see some movement with regard to the jobs market which is great news and means like us, many employers and businesses are starting to make plans to return to work.
You will find all the government guidelines here and they include specific guidance which covers construction and other outdoor work, warehouses, labs and research facilities, offices and contact centres and similar indoor environments. The guidance also addresses working in other people’s homes, restaurants offering takeaway or delivery, shops and similar environments and people who work in or from vehicles, including couriers and lorry drivers.
Please do give us a call if you need any support and we can signpost you if you are not sure where to find help.
When Will Our Salisbury Office Re-Open
For the time being the team at Personnel Placements will continue to work remotely from home. Having been able to successfully interview by video link and collect the relevant documents we need from candidates to meet our obligations with right to work procedures electronically, we feel it is sensible and safe to continue in that way.
We meet regularly with the whole team, virtually of course, and they are all safe and well and looking forward to coming back to work to support you, their clients and candidates as soon as they are able. Although working remotely has worked well, we do miss the team office environment and the ability to meet our candidates and clients in person. We are planning how we can return to the office and in the longer term, safely get back to seeing people ‘face to face’ when needed.
Preparing Your Employees
Understandably, some employees will feel nervous and anxious about returning to work and so our latest blog shares some key things to consider before you start making plans for them to return to the workplace. Remember that you may also need to re-issue notices to extend furlough to employees depending on the dates in your your original and subsequent communication with them.
